Bicycle hotels are primarily meant to encourage commuters to transfer to bicycles and public transport, but this one at Asker station is also open to general cyclists. The two-storey form mediates between the square and the adjacent office building. The top level, accessible by ramp is free and open to all, while the bottom level is controlled-access and only available by subscription. It also has simple bicycle maintenance facilities. The façade is made up of anodised aluminium sheets, with a pattern derived from ash bark – a reference to the municipal emblem.
